The men’s group in Whitehead Methodist Church, the M and M’s, organise a coffee morning and sale every spring and this year it was held on Saturday 31st May.
An early start at 8am was required to get the all the stalls, the coffee room and the big marquee set up and we opened at 10am. The weather was good and lots of people came to buy plants which had been specially grown and cared for by Terry since February, odds and ends from the salvage yard, clothes and furniture and to enjoy the cakes, traybakes and tea and coffee which were served by the ladies of the church.
All the money raised will go towards our Building Fund for our new church hall which we hope to be in a position to start building early next year. Over £1,360 was raised on the day and at present our Building Fund stands at over £122,000. We estimate we will need over £150,000 so we have a bit to go yet but the work on Saturday has brought the total that bit closer. And it was good fun too! Thanks to all who worked so hard at it and to all those who supported it by donating things to sell, or simply by coming along on the day.
Everyone had a fantastic time at our annual Coffee Morning and Sale on 4 June. 
A beautiful painting by local artist Shirley Snook will be auctioned by Islandmagee Methodist Church.
