Silent Art Auction Islandmagee

Magheramorne-Poppies-Local artist Shirley Snook was commissioned to produce an artwork for the benefit of Islandmagee Methodist Church.  The result is this beautiful 12cm x 12cm Acrylic on Canvas entitled “Magheramorne Poppies”

Mounted and secured in a glazed, white box frame (25cm x 25cm) it is an evocation of the countryside around Magheramorne when the poppies are in full bloom.  Situated in rural County Antrim across Larne Lough from the Islandmagee peninsula, Magheramorne happens to be the location of the Castle Black set of Game of Thrones, and is clearly visible from the Middle Road in Islandmagee.

Our intention is to auction the painting to the highest bidder (providing the reserve has been exceeded), here on our internet sites and social media, and also physically in church by silent auction (envelope placed in a sealed box).  The highest bidder will win the auction when the bids are examined on Saturday 23rd July.  The painting can either be collected in person from our minister – Rev Gary Millar, or it will be securely packed and posted to the highest bidder.  All proceeds will be going to support the work of practical outreach in Busia, Uganda, and the amount raised will augment the total raised at our annual Big Breakfast.

Please contact Rev Gary Millar via the contact option on our www.wimethodist.com website, or privately message us via Facebook – these are the only methods for bidding, apart from physical bids in an envelope in church.  The winning bid will be decided by a group of 3 senior member of the Islandmagee Methodist Church, no negotiations will be entered into after the winning bid is announced, and the successful bidder must transfer funds before the painting is dispatched/presented.  Happy bidding!”
