This is part of the Belfast Marathon event on May Bank Holiday (5th). Heather and Neil Morris and others will walk the 8 mile route for Christian Aid (CA) to raise money and awareness regarding poverty and injustice. The group will start off from the City hall at 9.00 am. Participants will be required to raise sponsorship for their challenge – it costs £22 to enter the event, so sponsorship would need to at least cover this. You’ll get a t-shirt or tabard to wear to advertise Christian Aid and so that you feel part of the group. Get your family and friends involved. Click here to see the route.
Here is a link to more information about the walk and to the registration form that you will each need to complete and send to the address specified. Please register before Friday 4 April – the fee to enter is £22. After that date the fee doubles. Christian Aid have set up a JustGiving page here that you can direct people to sponsor you (how about emailing your contacts or posting it on your Facebook/Twitter tagging Christian Aid Ireland/@christianaidirl?).
There are some Christian Aid tabards, tshirts (to come) and hoodies (available for £30) that CA would love you to wear if possible to promote CA a bit. Contact Helen Newell to get one.
